135 – hit the court

So today my 6th graders are doing Act 2: Hit the Court in “Basketball IQ” lesson from Mathalicious. Kids said, “that was fun” and “thank you” to me as we walked back from the courts. Awesome.

32 – stealing second

Stealing Second was a hit with my geometry kids! We’re not done yet, but we had a great discussion on the mechanics and mathematics of stealing a base. Students also argued whether to steal when the pitcher is left or right-handed. These crazy kids wanted to “act it out.”
